No Breakfast? No Problem!

Don't get me wrong: breakfast is great!  It sets you up for the day, gives your metabolism a kickstart and keeps you going. But, what if you can't stomach anything but a cup of tea first thing?
There are lots of reasons people don't eat breakfast: a late dinner, erratic sleep, shift work, rushing to the airport for a business trip at 6am. Whatever your reason is, I don't think it makes sense to eat when you are not hungry. 

But it's most likely that you will get hungry at one point during the morning before lunch. And by then you are super busy and don't have the time for a good breakfast, so you reach for the next thing in sight: if you're lucky, it's an apple. Sometimes it's a chocolate cookie...

There are great ways to get a healthy breakfast or snack without hours of preparation:
  • make overnight oats the night before you are travelling and take them with you when you leave the house - it only takes 2 minutes!
  • if you are in the office, have a piece of fruit and a small pot of plain yoghurt 
  • have a bag of nuts or almonds in your bag for a quick nutritious snack
  • keep some oats in your drawer for a quick microwave porridge on the days you prefer something warming
